Before we get into the week at Club, the members of Club 58 want to send our heartfelt, deepest condolences to one of our own, Linda Thompson-Brennan, who lost a son to a motorcycle accident earlier this month. But only one this week. Andy, feeling he REALLY wanted a new pin, opened the night with an impressive 68-point loss. Not the biggest of the season. I can't believe we have to keep track of this stat (lol). We had someone new come to play with us, Dominic Mathieu from Cary. He found our little Weebly site and (though his cards were not favorable) he had a great time and said he will come back. We look forward to it, Dominic!! 19 paid players means 5 places and two teams: Double-Skunker Jeff Seidenstein took 1st with a 16 / 7 / 176 Mike Due took 2nd with a 16 / 7 / 87 Bob Hewitt took 3rd with a 14 / 7 / 76 Kristy Haught took 4th with a 14 / 6 / 57 and Roger Doenges rounded out the place winners (5th) with a 12 / 6 / 64 Team 1: Steve Podolski (12) and Jennifer Johnson (10) Team 2: Megan Player (10) and Larry Phifer (10) Standings through this week can be found below: Mike Due had a club flush to the King Megan Player had two pairs, Jacks and 10s Jerry Gooden had a pair of Kings Andy Wagner had two pairs, Kings and 5s Fran Ward had trip Queens John Morch had a straight to the 8 Jennifer Johnson had a pair of 6s Our GRRT is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th. And you have to decide if you're official or not at registration :)
That's it for me... and it isn't even THE WEEKEND yet! See ya'll Monday! ~ Jennifer

We dipped under 20 this week, with 19 players. Even so, we finished everything up and was out of there by 10pm -- I have no idea why some weeks it takes us forever to get our games in. Especially since at least three games finished VERY quickly. We had what I feel must be a record-breaking THREE DOUBLE-SKUNKS this week (in 9 games). John Morch and Jennifer Johnson were both skunked by 69 holes, and Tom Goeschel by 67. When the cards to cold in Raleigh, they go FRIGID. I've ordered some double-skunk just-for-fun pins to have on hand; I should have them in another week or so. Gotta love StickerMule! Anyway. Guest Bill Hubbard joined us again, and had a passing-through visitor, Tony Jackson from Florida. Tony does something interesting on the back of his scorecard. He keeps track of how many 19 hands/cribs he has in a night (3 this week), how many jacks were cut to his benefit (5) and how many to the pone (4). I always find it interesting to learn what kinds of things people like to keep track of. With 19 players, we paid out 5 places and 2 teams this week. Jeff Seidenstein took first, with a lovely 14 / 7 / 72 Tony Jackson took some of our money on his continued journey around the country, scoring an equally lovely 14 / 7 / 59 Not to be outdone with the 14s, Larry Phifer took third place with a slightly dirty 14 / 6 / 96. John Morch (one of the THREE people DOUBLE-SKUNKED this week) pulled in a very respectable 12 / 6 / -2 Once again, we had to dip into the non-GRP cards to round out 5th place; Steve Podolski had an 11 / 5 / 87 to take that honor. Here are the standings after week 3: John Morch had two pairs, Jacks and 9s Jennifer Johnson had two pairs, 10s and 6s Andy Wagner had a heart flush to the A-J Fran Ward had two pairs, 6s and 5s Mike Due had a diamond flush, A-Q Jerry Gooden had a heart flush, A-K, within the first 5 games Our GRRT is scheduled for |
